Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I know it’s possibly a bit early to say this, but I’m getting busier and busier as Christmas approaches and I’d hate to forget to post. Anyway, after all our troubles over the last few months, things have settled down. My son has recovered and returned to work. He was laid off when the company lost a large contract and had to reduce the workforce (Not because he had been ill, that would be illegal…) Same day, he heard about another job nearer to home and applied. He was invited for interview the next day and got it. He seems happy there. My aunt’s funeral passed without incident. I wasn’t there, we had our holiday in Portugal and the insurance didn’t consider an aunt close enough to cancel. I spoke to my uncle and explained that we couldn’t get our money back. He said he understood. My brother asked if he could move the date, but he said he couldn’t. The cruise was just what I needed. It was rough going across the Bay of Biscay, but that can be rough at the best of times. We had Storm Babet behind us and another coming in from the Atlantic. The captain decided we had to miss one of our stops so he could skirt the storm. It was much calmer going back. I’m currently breaking the bank preparing for Christmas. Two of our granddaughters have December birthdays so it’s an expensive time for us. It’s been freezing cold so I’m making heavy use of Amazon. I hope everyone has a wonderful time this holiday season.
